Senior Technical Leadership Without the EUR 300K+ Price Tag
Your startup needs a CTO who builds, leads, and ships. You don't need to hire one full-time.
20+ years from electronics to cloud. 3 patents. 6+ teams built and led. The rare CTO who speaks both hardware and software.
No commitment. No pitch. Just a conversation.
// what is a fractional CTO
A CTO Who Builds With You (Not Just Advises)
A fractional CTO is a senior technology leader who works with your company part-time. You get the strategic thinking, architecture decisions, and team leadership of an experienced CTO — but only for the hours you actually need.
Unlike a consultant who writes a report and leaves, I embed with your team. I join standups, review pull requests, mentor engineers, make architecture calls, and build alongside your people. When I leave, your team is stronger than when I arrived.
What makes me different: I came from hardware engineering — power electronics, control systems, 3 patents — before moving into software. That cross-domain thinking means I approach software problems with the rigor of someone who designed systems where failures aren't just a 500 error, they're a fire.
| Full-Time CTO | Fractional CTO | |
|---|---|---|
| Annual cost | EUR 250-400K+ | From EUR 3,000/month |
| Commitment | Long-term hire | Flexible, month-to-month |
| Time to start | 3-6 months recruiting | 1-2 weeks |
| Experience | Varies | 20+ years, 50+ systems |
| Risk | High (wrong hire = months lost) | Low (cancel anytime) |
// what you get
Not Just Strategy. Real Work.
I don't just tell you what to do. I roll up my sleeves and do it with you.
Technical Architecture
System design, technology selection, scalability planning. I design architectures that grow with you — no overengineering, no premature optimization.
Team Building & Leadership
Hiring the right people, building trust-based culture, turning struggling teams into ones that ship on time and enjoy the work.
Hands-On Development
Code reviews, prototyping, debugging production issues. Python/FastAPI, APIs, data systems. I don't just architect — I build.
Technical Strategy
Roadmap planning, build-vs-buy decisions, technical debt management, vendor evaluation. Aligning technology with your business goals.
Process & Delivery
Agile that actually works (not just ceremonies). CI/CD, testing strategy, release management. From 3-month delays to on-time shipping.
Knowledge Transfer
My goal is to make myself replaceable. I teach, document, and empower your team so they can own everything after I leave.
// how it works
Simple. No Bureaucracy.
We Talk
Free 30-minute call. You tell me what's keeping you up at night, I ask the dumb questions that lead to smart solutions. No sales pitch.
I Propose
Within a week, I send you a clear proposal: what I'd do, how many hours/week, and what it costs. No 50-page documents. Plain language.
We Build
I embed with your team. Daily commits, weekly demos, no surprises. You see progress from day one, not month three.
Your Team Owns It
As we work together, I transfer knowledge so your team grows stronger. When you're ready, they take over. That's success.

What Happens When I Join Your Team
Automotive Platform (INFINIT)
From 3-Month Delays to Shipping on Time
Inherited a broken scraping system, disconnected services, and a demotivated team. Rebuilt the architecture from day one, assembled a 6-person team with "pack" culture.
Enterprise Data (Confidential FinTech)
Built a Data System Everyone Said Was Impossible
Rich data that wasn't accessible through traditional means. Built a custom scraping and data intelligence system from scratch. Minimal supervision needed after handoff.
Team Transformation (Crate.io)
18-Person Team: From Zero Morale to "Best Experience of My Career"
Led an 18-person engineering team through a complete delivery transformation. Introduced trust-based culture, fixed processes, and restored pride in the work.
His brilliance as an engineer became evident through the multitude of innovative ideas... Pedro consistently showcased a remarkable capacity for creative problem-solving, often presenting solutions that were both ingenious and pragmatic.

✓ Great Fit
- ✓ Non-technical founder building a tech product
- ✓ Growing team that needs senior technical guidance

- ✓ Need to hire developers but don't know how to evaluate them
- ✓ Technical debt slowing everything down
✗ Probably Not the Best Fit
- ✗ You need a full-time, on-site executive (I work remotely)
- ✗ Highly specialized niche (biotech, quantum computing)
- ✗ You want someone to just write code, not lead

// questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly does a fractional CTO do?
A fractional CTO provides senior technical leadership on a part-time basis. I help with architecture decisions, team building, technical strategy, code reviews, and mentoring — without the commitment or cost of a full-time executive hire. Think of it as having a seasoned CTO on speed dial.
How is this different from hiring a consultant?
Consultants typically advise. I embed. As your fractional CTO, I join your team, attend standups, review PRs, make architecture decisions, and mentor your engineers. I'm not writing a report — I'm building alongside you.
How many hours per week do you typically work?
Most engagements are 1-3 days per week, depending on your needs. Some clients start with a few hours of advisory and scale up. Others need intensive hands-on leadership from day one. We'll find the right fit.
When should a startup hire a fractional CTO?
When you need senior technical leadership but can't justify (or afford) a full-time CTO at EUR 250-400K/year. Common triggers: you're a non-technical founder building a tech product, your architecture isn't scaling, your team is growing faster than your processes, or you need someone to own the technical strategy.
How long does a typical engagement last?
Anywhere from 3 months to over a year. Some clients need help through a specific milestone (product launch, funding round, scaling phase). Others keep me on as ongoing technical leadership. My goal is always to build your team's capability so they can eventually own it without me.
Can you help us hire a full-time CTO later?
Absolutely — and I actively plan for it. Part of my role is defining what your ideal CTO looks like, building the team and processes they'll inherit, and helping you evaluate candidates. Making myself replaceable is a feature, not a bug.
What industries do you work with?
I've worked across automotive, fintech, enterprise data, energy, and developer tools. What matters more than industry is the challenge: scaling systems, building teams, solving "impossible" technical problems. If it involves Python, distributed systems, or technical leadership, I'm interested.
Do you write code or just advise?
Both. I'm a hands-on CTO — I review code, prototype solutions, debug production issues, and architect systems. But I also do the "CTO stuff": hiring, team culture, technical strategy, stakeholder communication. The mix depends on what your company needs most right now.
